The San Diego Chargers 22-10 loss to the Denver Broncos left them at the #8 seed behind the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens for the Wild Card Playoff spots.The Chargers need to win out and get help to achieve the postseason.
The Chargers would own tiebreaker on the Ravens by virtue of their 34-33 win Nov. 30th.
The Charger defense played well enough to win holding the Broncos and Peyton Manning to one touchdown and 5 field goals. Unfortunately for the second week in a row the offense was only able to generate one offensive touchdown and missed 2 field goals. Terrible penalties and missed opportunities plagued the Chargers all day. Lack of a running game is not helping the Chargers to achieve ball control which is the key to stopping the Bronco offense.
The Chargers face the 49ers @ Levi Stadium on Saturday. With a short week of practice, putting this loss behind them is essential. Their focus is going to be on a balanced attack on offense and a opportunistic defense. Last season the Chargers had help in getting in the Postseason. Let us hope the scenario will play out again.
