Patriots free agent guard Dan Connolly’s second visit with the Buccaneers is over. Reports are the workout went well but he left without a contract.
Former Bucs, Vikings and Lions defensive end George Johnson also visited One Buc Palace today. Johnson had 6 sacks last year with the Lions. Johnson is an RFA tender, which means the Lions have the right to match but would receive no compensation if he signs with another team.
The Buccaneers signed two players that participated in the inaugural NFL veteran combine today. Free agent center Ben Gottschalk, a former Chief and TE Emmanuel Ogbuehi were both signed.
Ogbuehi worked out at fullback as well. The Buccaneers already have 7 tight ends on the roster so I’m thinking this is why Ogbuehi was seen working out at fullback and will compete with Javorski Lane.
Gottschalk will most likely compete with Josh Allen and Jeremiah Warren.
