Pittsburgh Steelers 12-year safety Troy Polamalu announced his retirement on Thursday.
Polamalu, 33, spent his entire 12-year career on the Pittsburgh Steelers after being the 16th overall pick in the 2003 NFL Draft.
Polamalu’s accomplishments include:
8 Pro Bowls
5 time All-Pro
3 AFC Championship victories
2 Super Bowl wins
and 2010 AP defensive player of the year.
Polamalu ended his career with 770 tackles, 12 sacks, 32 interception, 14 forced fumbles, and 3 career defensive touchdowns.
Polamalu will be best remembered by his aggressive playing style and nose for the football. Well, that and his gorgeous hair. How can we ever forget Troy’s hair?
Polamalu is one of the most interesting safeties that the NFL has ever seen.
His explosive plays and amazing interceptions will certainly be missed.
